But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.

And again the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.

Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: be honoured of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and showed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not.

And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the lawless one, and love them that hate Yahweh? therefore is wrath upon thee from before Yahweh.

And they left the house of Yahweh Elohim of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

Thou sayest, Lo, thou hast smitten the Edomites; and thine heart lifteth thee up to boast: abide now at home; why shouldest thou meddle to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?

But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against Yahweh his Elohim, and went into the temple of Yahweh to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, Elohim left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.

And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Sovereign Yahweh; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a El, I sit in the seat of Elohim, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not El, though thou set thine heart as the heart of Elohim:

By thy great wisdom and by thy traffic hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:

Therefore thus saith the Sovereign Yahweh; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.

But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his honour from him:

But hast lifted up thyself against the Sovereign of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy nobles, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the elah of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the Elah in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not honoured:

Take with you words, and turn to Yahweh: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Do ye thus requite Yahweh, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
