Then said Yahweh unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
When a bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days with the mother; and from the eighth day and thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto Yahweh.
I prayed therefore unto Yahweh, and said, O Sovereign Yahweh, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And build an altar unto Yahweh thy Elohim upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.
And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built.
And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and show thee what thou shalt do.
Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto Yahweh, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of Yahweh, in asking you a king.
And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.
And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place:
