And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of Yahweh;
Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because Elohim hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
And he returned to the man of Elohim, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no Elohim in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let Yahweh be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that Yahweh Elohim might dwell among them.
Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.
And Saul said to David, Behold my elder daughter Merab, her will I give thee to wife: only be thou valiant for me, and fight Yahweh's battles. For Saul said, Let not mine hand be upon him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.
I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for Yahweh will certainly make my master a sure house; because my master fighteth the battles of Yahweh, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.
