So when David was old and full of days, he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
Then Abraham breathed his last, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.
And Isaac breathed his last, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.
Is this thing done by my master the king, and thou hast not showed it unto thy servant, who should sit on the throne of my master the king after him?
Even as I sware unto thee by Yahweh Elohim of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.
Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.
And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
And of all my sons, for Yahweh hath given me many sons, he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel.
And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
