You’re my place of quiet retreat, and your wraparound presence becomes my shield as I wrap myself in your Word!

I’ll always have an answer for those who mock me because I trust in your word.

Lord, never forget the promises you’ve made to me, for they are my hope and confidence.

May all your devoted lovers see how you treat me and be glad, for your words are entwined with my heart.

I’m lovesick with yearnings for more of your salvation, for my heart is entwined with your Word.

Here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Don’t give up; don’t be impatient; be entwined as one with the Lord. Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!

The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wraparound presence will strengthen us.

I waited and waited and waited some more, patiently, knowing God would come through for me. Then, at last, he bent down and listened to my cry.

I stand silently to listen for the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me. For God alone has become my Savior.

For Yahweh is the Lord of justice, faithful to keep his promises. Overwhelmed with bliss are all who will entwine their hearts in him, waiting for him to help them.

I will wait for the Lord Yahweh, who hides his face from the family of Jacob. And I will place all my hope in him!

As they came to the temple to fulfill this requirement, an elderly man was there waiting—a resident of Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. He was a very good man, a lover of God who kept himself pure, and the Spirit of holiness rested upon him. Simeon believed in the imminent appearing of the one called “The Refreshing of Israel.”

While Simeon was prophesying over Mary and Joseph and the baby, Anna walked up to them and burst forth with a great chorus of praise to God for the child. From that day forward she told everyone in Jerusalem who was waiting for their redemption that the anticipated Messiah had come!

So it is impossible for God to lie for we know that his promise and his vow will never change! And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakable hope!
