I was desperate for you to help me in my struggles, and you did!

I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help. But then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth.

I was overjoyed when they said, “Let’s go up to the house of the Lord.”

O God-Enthroned in heaven, I lift my eyes toward you in worship.

What if God had not been on our side? Let all Israel admit this!

Yahweh shows favor to those who fear him, those who wait for his tender embrace.

Be there for me, my God, for I keep trusting in you. Don’t allow my foes to gloat over me or the shame of defeat to overtake me.

How good you are to me! When people turn to you, Yahweh, they discover how easy you are to please—so faithful and true! Joyfully you teach them the proper path, even when they go astray.

Yahweh is my revelation-light and the source of my salvation. I fear no one! I’ll never turn back and run, for you, Yahweh, surround and protect me.

But the Lord has paid for the freedom of his servants, and he will freely pardon those who love him. He will declare them free and innocent when they turn to hide themselves in him.

God is in the midst of his city, secure and never shaken. At daybreak his help will be seen with the appearing of the dawn.

When the nations are in uproar with their tottering kingdoms, God simply raises his voice, and the earth begins to disintegrate before him.

He alone is my safe place; his wraparound presence always protects me. For he is my champion defender; there’s no risk of failure with God. So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?

But look at these who want me dead, shouting their vicious threats at me! The moment they discover my weakness, they all begin plotting to take me down.

Give out a shout of cheer; sing for joy, O people of Zion, for great and mighty is the Holy One of Israel who lives among you!

And what will be the answer of the messengers of the nations? That the Lord has laid the foundation of Zion, and in her his needy ones will find shelter.

Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with you; they confidently trust in you.

Yes, trust in the Lord Yahweh forever and ever! For Yah, the Lord God, is your Rock of Ages!

Do it again! Those Yahweh has set free will return to Zion and come celebrating with songs of joy! They will be crowned with never-ending joy! Gladness and joy will overwhelm them; despair and depression will disappear!

“I have placed my words in your mouth and have hidden you in the hollow of my hand to establish the heavens and make the earth rock solid. You will say to Zion, ‘You are my people!’ ”

Wake up! Open your eyes! Beautiful Zion, put on your majestic strength! Jerusalem, the sacred city, put on your glory garments! Never again will the unclean enter your gates!
