For your truth is the source of my understanding, not the falsehoods of those who don’t know you, which I despise.

Every word you speak, every truth revealed, is always right and beautiful to me, for I hate what is phony or false.

I despise every lie and hate every falsehood, for I am passionate about keeping your precepts.

Help me turn my eyes away from illusions so that I pursue only that which is true; drench my soul with life as I walk in your paths.

How I long for my life to bring you glory as I follow each and every one of your holy precepts!

Empty out of my heart everything that is false— every lie, and every crooked thing. And give me neither undue poverty nor undue wealth— but rather, feed my soul with the measure of prosperity that pleases you.

He feeds his spirit on ashes! His deluded heart leads him astray. He can’t even ask himself, “Is this thing I’m holding in my right hand a fraud?”

Yahweh, you are my strength and my stronghold, my sanctuary in a time of trouble. Nations will stream toward you from the ends of the earth and say: “The gods of our ancestors are nothing but frauds, worthless idols that could do nothing for them.

If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth.

If someone claims, “I have come to know God by experience,” yet doesn’t keep God’s commands, he is a phony and the truth finds no place in him.

Those not permitted to enter are outside: the malicious hypocrites, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, murderers, idolaters, and every lover of lies.
