Let me hear your promise of blessing over my life, breaking me free from the proud oppressors.
Your displeasure rests with those who are arrogant, who think they know everything; you rebuke the rebellious who refuse your laws.
Don’t let these proud boasters trample me down; don’t let them push me around by the sheer strength of their wickedness.
I could only chirp like a swallow or small bird; I could only moan like a dove. My eyes are weary from looking up into heaven. Yahweh, I am so depressed. Come and be my strength.
So all of this magnifies the truth that we have a superior covenant with God than what they experienced, for Jesus himself is its guarantor!
