Out of my deep anguish and pain I prayed, and God, you helped me as a father. You came to my rescue and broke open the way into a beautiful and broad place.

in my distress I cried out to you, the delivering God, and from your temple-throne you heard my troubled cry, and my sobs went right into your heart.

Give me back my life. Save me from this violent death. Save my precious one and only from the power of these dogs!

Turn to me, for my problems seem to be going from bad to worse. Only you can free me from all these troubles!

When I had nothing, desperate and defeated, I cried out to the Lord and he heard me, bringing his miracle-deliverance when I needed it most.

Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you.

Yahweh, turn to me and rescue my life because I know your faithful love will never fail me.

In the darkness of death who remembers your name in worship? How could I bring you praise if I’m buried in a tomb?

“The tax collector stood alone in a corner, away from the Holy Place, and covered his face in his hands, feeling that he was unworthy even to look up to God. Beating his breast, he sobbed with brokenness and tears saying, ‘God, please, in your mercy and because of the blood sacrifice, forgive me, for I am nothing but the most miserable of all sinners!’

Jesus and his disciples were all invited to the banquet, but with so many guests, they ran out of wine. And when Mary realized it, she came to Jesus and asked, “They have no wine; can’t you do something about it?”
