You can’t trust gossipers with a secret; they’ll just go blab it all. Put your confidence instead in a trusted friend, for he will be faithful to keep it in confidence.

An understanding person demonstrates patience, for mercy means holding your tongue. When you are insulted, be quick to forgive and forget it, for you are virtuous when you overlook an offense.

A blabbermouth will reveal your secrets, so stay away from people who can’t keep their mouths shut.

Don’t reveal another person’s secret just to prove a point in an argument, or you could be accused of being a gossip
