It was like a dream come true when you freed us from our bondage and brought us back to Zion!

Now, Lord, do it again! Restore us to our former glory! May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again.

How I wish that Israel’s rescue would arise from the midst of Zion! When Yahweh restores his people, Jacob’s joy will break forth and Israel will be glad!

Lord, your love has poured out so many amazing blessings on our land! You’ve restored Jacob’s destiny from captivity.

“I will restore deliverers as in former times and your wise counselors as at the beginning. Only then will you be called the Righteous City and the Faithful City!”

Listen! The watchmen are shouting in triumph! Lifting their voices together, they are singing for joy! For right before their eyes, they can see Yahweh returning to Zion!

“But I will gather the remnant of my flock from all the countries where I have scattered them and will bring them back to their folds where they will thrive and increase in number.”

My eyes will compassionately watch over them for their good, to bring them back to this land, to build them up and not to tear them down, to plant them and not to uproot them.

I will not disappoint you,” declares Yahweh. “All that you have lost, I will restore, and I will regather you from all the nations where I have scattered you. I will bring you back home to the land from which I exiled you,” declares Yahweh.

Yahweh says: “See, I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob and have compassion on his families. The city will be rebuilt on its mound with the city fortress in its rightful place.

Their descendants will be just like they were before. Their community will be fixed firmly before me, and I shall punish all their oppressors.

For I decree that the time is coming when I will restore all that you have lost and bring back my captive people, Israel and Judah,” says Yahweh. “I will bring them back to possess the land that I gave to their ancestors.”

I have watched over them to uproot, to knock down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring calamity, so now, I will carefully watch over them as they start over again and rebuild. And I will help them grow,” declares Yahweh.

“Look, the days are coming when the people will rebuild Jerusalem for me,” declares Yahweh. “They will rebuild it from the northeast Tower of Hananel to the northwest Corner Gate.

You are precious to me, and I will build you up again. Yes, Israel, you will be rebuilt! Once more, you will be decked out in your best attire, take up your tambourines, and go out dancing with great joy.

Yes, people will pay cash for property, draw up deeds, seal them, and have them witnessed in the territory of Benjamin, throughout the villages around Jerusalem, the towns of Judah, the highlands, the western foothills, and the southern desert. For I will restore what was lost and bring the captives back to their land,” declares Yahweh.

Yahweh says: “When that day comes the people of Israel and the people of Judah will go out together with tears streaming down their cheeks to seek Yahweh their God.

Your punishment is over, fair daughter of Zion. Yahweh will never send you away into exile again. But people of Edom, he will punish your wickedness and expose your sins.

So, Lord Yahweh says this: “Now I will be merciful and bring Jacob’s captives back and show pity on all the people of Israel. I will be zealous to not let them dishonor my holy name.
