The Passion Translation

For Yahweh has ransomed the people of Israel and rescued them from an enemy stronger than themselves.

Please listen to my heart’s cry, for I am low and in desperate need of you! Rescue me from all those who persecute me, for I am no match for them.

Sing! Starry sky above, break loose with singing, for Yahweh has finished it! Shout! Earth deep below, give up your shout! Mountains high, break out with joyous songs of praise! Let the forest choirs join in, with every tree singing its notes! For Yahweh has paid the ransom price for Jacob’s tribes, and he will be glorified in Israel!

Go! Leave Babylon! Flee from Chaldea! Announce it with joyous singing! Let everyone know! Proclaim it to the ends of the earth! Say it loud and clear: “Yahweh has rescued his servant Jacob!”

Who can snatch the prey from the hands of a mighty warrior or rescue captives from a conqueror?

But Yahweh says: “The prey will be freed from the mighty warrior, and captives will be rescued from a conqueror! For I will fight with those who fight with you, and I myself will save your children.

Do it again! Those Yahweh has set free will return to Zion and come celebrating with songs of joy! They will be crowned with never-ending joy! Gladness and joy will overwhelm them; despair and depression will disappear!

“I will save you from the power of the wicked and rescue you from the clutches of ruthless men.”

Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, says: “My people, Israel and Judah, are oppressed, You hold them fast and will not let them go.

But their Redeemer is powerful! My name is Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies. I will take up their cause and rescue them. I will give the nation rest but make the people of Babylon tremble.

Lord, like a lawyer you contended for my cause; you liberated my life, my Redeemer.

Who would dare enter the house of a mighty man and steal his property? First he must be overpowered and tied up by one who is stronger than he. Then his entire house can be plundered.

For even the Son of Man did not come expecting to be served but to serve and give his life in exchange for the salvation of many.”

Jesus answered them, “You are deluded, because your hearts are not filled with the revelation of the Scriptures or the power of God.

He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes.
