“Jeremiah, when these people, a prophet, or a priest asks you, ‘What is the burden of Yahweh’s heart?’ you must answer, ‘Yahweh declares, “You are my burden, and I will cast you aside!” ’
This is the prophecy against Babylon that God revealed to Isaiah, son of Amoz:
This prophecy came to Isaiah in the year King Ahaz died: Don’t rejoice too soon, you Philistines, just because the rod that beat you is broken!
“I have abandoned my house of Israel and deserted the people I call my own. I have surrendered the beloved of my soul over to her enemies.
Listen to what the people keep saying to me: “Where is the word of Yahweh? Let it come to pass!”
They are called ‘rejected silver,’ for Yahweh has rejected them.”
