And through him the poorest of the poor will find pasture and the needy will lie down in peace. The Lord will starve the root of the Philistines with a famine that will annihilate your survivors.

Her ruins will be abandoned— left for flocks to lie down in with nothing to fear.

The fortified city lies in ruins, forsaken and deserted like a wilderness. Cattle graze there and lie down, chewing on twigs and branches.

The wilderness and dry land will be joyously glad! The desert will blossom like a rose and rejoice!

“ ‘Hezekiah, this will be a sign for you: This year you will eat only grain that grows of itself. Next year you will eat what comes of that. Then, in the third year, life will be normal again. You will sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

Then lambs will graze, as if in their own pastures, and the refugee will eat in the ruins of the rich.

The once-cultivated hillsides where vineyards used to grow will be completely overgrown with thorns so that people will be afraid to go there. It will become a place where cattle graze and sheep trample.

But he left behind some of the extremely poor people in the land of Judah. They owned nothing, so he gave them fields and vineyards to possess as their own.
