Isaiah 27:13

The Passion Translation

When that day comes, a great trumpet will sound, and those lost in the land of Assyria and Egypt—all the exiles—will come and bow down before the Lord Yahweh in Jerusalem and worship him on the holy mountain!

God arises with the earsplitting shout of his people! God goes up with a trumpet blast!

Go ahead! Blow the jubilee trumpet to begin the feast! Blow it before every joyous celebration and festival.

O Lord, how blessed are the people who know the triumphant shout, for they walk in the radiance of your presence.

On that day, the Lord will extend his hand a second time to restore the remnant of his people from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and the coastlands of the sea.

He will lift up a banner among the nations and will gather the scattered Jews, and assemble the outcasts of Israel from the four corners of the earth.

Then there will be a highway leading out of Assyria for his remnant people to return, just as there was for Israel when they were set free from Egypt.

Everyone everywhere, all who dwell on the earth, when a signal flag is raised on the mountain, take notice! When the shofar is blown, listen!

The Lord Yahweh will reveal to them who he really is, and the Egyptians will know him intimately. They will worship him with sacrifices and burnt offerings. They will make vows to the Lord Yahweh, and they will keep them.

The Lord Yahweh will wound the Egyptians, but when they turn back to him, he will heal them. Yes, the Lord Yahweh will listen to their hearts’ cry, and he will heal and restore them.

The arrogant will be humbled and the pride of man brought low. Only one will be exalted in that day: Yahweh!

In the last days, the mountain of Yahweh’s temple will be raised up as the head of the mountains, towering over all the hills. A sparkling stream of every nation will flow into it.

Many peoples will come and say, “Everyone, come! Let’s go up higher to Yahweh’s mountain, to the house of Jacob’s God; then he can teach us his ways and we can walk in his paths!” Zion will be the center of instruction, and the word of Yahweh will go out from Jerusalem.

The Lord Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies, will host a rich feast on this mountain for all peoples— a feast with plenty of meat and well-aged wine, with an abundance of food and the finest of wine.

I will say to the north, ‘Hand them over!’ and to the south, ‘Don’t hold them back!’ Bring me my sons from far away, my daughters from the ends of the earth!

Yahweh, Israel’s Kinsman-Redeemer and Holy One, says to the one who is deeply despised and repulsed by rulers and a slave to the ruling class: “Kings will see and stand up in respect; princes will bow down to honor the faithfulness of Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

The Lord God Almighty, who brings home the outcasts of Israel, says, “There are many others I will gather, and I will add them to those who are already gathered.”

I despise their evil works and their thoughts,” says Yahweh. “The time is coming for me to gather people together from all over the world, and they will come and gaze on my radiance.

From one Sabbath to the next, one month to the next, one year to the next, all humanity will come to worship me!

Yes, there will be a day when the watchmen cry out on the mountains of Samaria, ‘Come on! Let’s go up to Zion to meet with Yahweh our God and worship him!’ ”

In total disobedience to the voice of Yahweh, they entered the land of Egypt and arrived at Tahpanhes.

Only a very few will escape the sword and will return to the land of Judah from Egypt. Then all the remnant of Judah who came to settle in Egypt will know whose word comes true, mine or theirs.

“ ‘You have been scattered into many different nations and lands. But with a strong hand and my mighty power and outpoured wrath, I will bring you back.

I will take you out from among the nations and lands where you have been scattered and gather you together. Then I will be pleased with you just as I am pleased with the sweet aroma of burning sacrifices. And I will put my holiness on display through you before the nations.

So, Lord Yahweh says this: “Now I will be merciful and bring Jacob’s captives back and show pity on all the people of Israel. I will be zealous to not let them dishonor my holy name.

He will pitch his lavish royal tents between the sea and the beautiful mountain of the holy temple. Yet he will come to his end all alone, with no one to stand with him.”

And he will send his messengers with the loud blast of the trumpet, and with a great voice they will gather his beloved chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other!”

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.”

Can it be that Israel hasn’t heard the message? No, they have heard it, for: The voice has been heard throughout the world, and its message has gone to the ends of the earth!

For the Lord himself will appear with the declaration of victory, the shout of an archangel, and the trumpet blast of God. He will descend from the heavenly realm and command those who are dead in Christ to rise first.

By contrast, we have already come near to God in a totally different realm, the Zion-realm, for we have entered the city of the Living God, which is the New Jerusalem in heaven! We have joined the festal gathering of myriads of angels in their joyous celebration!

For in the day when the seventh angel is to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.

And then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and each was given a trumpet.

Then the seven angels prepared to sound their trumpets.

responding to the sixth angel, who blew his trumpet, “Set free the four angels who are confined at the great river Euphrates.”
