It’s better to be honest, even if it leads to poverty, than to live as a dishonest fool.

It will make you hallucinate, mumble, and speak words that are perverse.

For your hands are stained with blood and your fingers are dripping with the guilt of sin. Lies spill from your lips and your tongue mutters treachery.

During this persecution, God’s people will receive little help, though many will join with them insincerely.

For they are not true apostles but deceitful ministers who masquerade as “special apostles” of the Anointed One.

Those widows who go around from house to house as busybodies are only learning to be lazy, making their situation even worse by talking too much, gossiping, and speaking things they shouldn’t. They become far too obsessed with empty things that will not bear good fruit.

They add misery to many lives by corrupting their minds and cheating them of the truth. They equate the worship of God with making great sums of money.

They spout off with their grandiose, impressive nonsense. Consumed with the lusts of the flesh, they lure back into sin those who recently escaped from their error.

For even though they were once a part of us, they withdrew from us because they were never really of our number. For if they had truly belonged to us they would have continued with us. By leaving our community of believers they made it obvious that they never really belonged to us.

Numerous deceivers have surfaced from among us and gone out into the world, people who will not acknowledge Jesus Christ coming as a man. These deceivers are antichrists!

Although, to your credit, you despise the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also despise.
