When Jacob finished commanding his sons, he drew up his feet into the bed and breathed his last and was gathered to his people.

For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no abiding.[5]

The wicked is overthrown through his evildoing, but the righteous finds refuge in his death.

All go to one place. All are from the dust, and to dust all return.

Who knows whether the spirit of man goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth?

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.

Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
