I am a laughingstock to my friends; I, who called to God and he answered me, a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock.

The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke God are secure, who bring their god in their hand.[1]

I also could speak as you do, if you were in my place; I could join words together against you and shake my head at you.

"Indeed, the light of the wicked is put out, and the flame of his fire does not shine.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.'

Vengeance is mine, and recompense,[6] for the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and their doom comes swiftly.'
