Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments!

let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy

Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O LORD.

In that day the branch of the LORD shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel.

A voice cries:[2] "In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits; let the habitants of Sela sing for joy, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

For the LORD comforts Zion; he comforts all her waste places and makes her wilderness like Eden, her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.

Then I said, "How long, O Lord?" And he said: "Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste,

In that day a man will keep alive a young cow and two sheep,

And they will say, 'This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.'
