An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

So King Rehoboam grew strong in Jerusalem and reigned. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city that the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his name there. His mother's name was Naamah the Ammonite.

but I have chosen Jerusalem that my name may be there, and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.'

For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time.

May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who shall put out a hand to alter this, or to destroy this house of God that is in Jerusalem. I Darius make a decree; let it be done with all diligence."

but if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though your dispersed be under the farthest skies, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place that I have chosen, to make my name dwell there.'

They set your sanctuary on fire; they profaned the dwelling place of your name, bringing it down to the ground.

His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.

But Moses said, "You must also let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.

"You shall make the altar of acacia wood, five cubits[1] long and five cubits broad. The altar shall be square, and its height shall be three cubits.

You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved?[2]

and does not bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting to offer it to the LORD, that man shall be cut off from his people.

For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be[2] great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."

teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

then to the place that the LORD your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, and all your finest vow offerings that you vow to the LORD.

If the place that the LORD your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, then you may kill any of your herd or your flock, which the LORD has given you, as I have commanded you, and you may eat within your towns whenever you desire.

But you shall seek the place that the LORD your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation[1] there. There you shall go,

And before the LORD your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your towns, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, at the place that the LORD your God will choose, to make his name dwell there.

you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you harvest from your land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you shall put it in a basket, and you shall go to the place that the LORD your God will choose, to make his name to dwell there.

He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you.

I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;
