And all Judah rejoiced over the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart and had sought him with their whole desire, and he was found by them, and the LORD gave them rest all around.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The LORD is with you while you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

but when in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, he was found by them.

They were broken in pieces. Nation was crushed by nation and city by city, for God troubled them with every sort of distress.

Nevertheless, some good is found in you, for you destroyed the Asherahs out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God."

So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet, for his God gave him rest all around.

Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, in order that his fierce anger may turn away from us.

And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because God had prepared for the people, for the thing came about suddenly.

I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and put in place statutes and rules for them at Shechem.
