You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst.

Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, When He heard their cry;

And for their sake He remembered His covenant, And relented according to the multitude of His mercies.

He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it dried up; So He led them through the depths, As through the wilderness.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.

Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies and Your lovingkindnesses, For they are from of old.

Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.

You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.

But He made His own people go forth like sheep, And guided them in the wilderness like a flock;

So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

So the Lord saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,

But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.

Look down from heaven, And see from Your habitation, holy and glorious. Where are Your zeal and Your strength, The yearning of Your heart and Your mercies toward me? Are they restrained?

Neither did they say, ‘Where is the Lord, Who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, Who led us through the wilderness, Through a land of deserts and pits, Through a land of drought and the shadow of death, Through a land that no one crossed And where no one dwelt?’

But at last Daniel came before me (his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying:

By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, And by a prophet he was preserved.

“On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old;

‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.

Then I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not bear it yourself alone.

Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again.

Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!”

Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”
