Nor is there any mediator between us, Who may lay his hand on us both.

Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king’s personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king’s country.

And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
