The wise inherit honor, but fools get only shame.

A person’s riches may ransom their life, but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.

Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.

You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.

If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.

“Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.
