So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,

The wise men and enchanters were brought before me to read this writing and tell me what it means, but they could not explain it.

The seers will be ashamed and the diviners disgraced. They will all cover their faces because there is no answer from God.”

all because of the wanton lust of a prostitute, alluring, the mistress of sorceries, who enslaved nations by her prostitution and peoples by her witchcraft.

When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it pressed close to the wall, crushing Balaam’s foot against it. So he beat the donkey again.

Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
