Isaiah 19:14

New International Version

The Lord has poured into them a spirit of dizziness; they make Egypt stagger in all that she does, as a drunkard staggers around in his vomit.

“So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you.”

To him belong strength and insight; both deceived and deceiver are his.

“Make her drunk, for she has defied the Lord. Let Moab wallow in her vomit; let her be an object of ridicule.

“You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.”

For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie

God stirred up animosity between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem so that they acted treacherously against Abimelek.
