The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;

He prayed to the Lord, “Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.

“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

“This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them.

to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,

and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,

in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ,

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,

who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
