Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a warrior wakes from the stupor of wine.

Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”

There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them.

I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

You should not wait at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives, nor hand over their survivors in the day of their trouble.

Send away male and female alike; send them outside the camp so they will not defile their camp, where I dwell among them.”

Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.

David asked him, “Can you lead me down to this raiding party?” He answered, “Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them.”
