While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar.

Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they were finishing their feast. On hearing the sound of the trumpet, Joab asked, “What’s the meaning of all the noise in the city?”

Then Felix, who was well acquainted with the Way, adjourned the proceedings. “When Lysias the commander comes,” he said, “I will decide your case.”

and even tried to desecrate the temple; so we seized him.

The next day Agrippa and Bernice came with great pomp and entered the audience room with the high-ranking military officers and the prominent men of the city. At the command of Festus, Paul was brought in.

That is why some Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me.
