New International Version

Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord’s anger turned from him, and he was not totally destroyed. Indeed, there was some good in Judah.

What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.

For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone.

“We have sinned and rebelled and you have not forgiven.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
