Indeed, if Abraham was justified on the basis of his works, he has reason to boast; but this was not so in the sight of God.

Then Pharaoh summoned Abram and said to him: “How could you do this to me! Why did you not tell me she was your wife?

But scripture confined all things under the power of sin, that through faith in Jesus Christ the promise might be given to those who believe. What Faith Has Brought Us.

it is not from works, so no one may boast.

and be found in him, not having any righteousness of my own based on the law but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God, depending on faith
