All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, Summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Have you ever in your lifetime commanded the morning and shown the dawn its place

He hushed the storm to silence, the waves of the sea were stilled.

Then our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord had done great things for them.”

And sent signs and wonders against you, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

The sun to rule the day, for his mercy endures forever;

Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all shining stars.

A report goes forth through all the earth, their messages, to the ends of the world. He has pitched in them a tent for the sun;

Ask it of me, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, and, as your possession, the ends of the earth.

The meadows of the wilderness also drip; the hills are robed with joy.

Say to God: “How awesome your deeds! Before your great strength your enemies cringe.

Yours the day and yours the night too; you set the moon and sun in place.

You rule the raging sea; you still its swelling waves.

But God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far away, Driven like chaff on the mountains before a wind, like tumbleweed before a storm.

And when you look up to the heavens and behold the sun or the moon or the stars, the whole heavenly host, do not be led astray into bowing down to them and serving them. These the Lord, your God, has apportioned to all the other nations under the heavens;

At that moment there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell in ruins. Seven thousand people were killed during the earthquake; the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.
