His descendants shall be mighty in the land, a generation of the upright will be blessed.
Preserve my soul and rescue me; do not let me be disgraced, for in you I seek refuge.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; exult, all you upright of heart.
Draws me up from the pit of destruction, out of the muddy clay, Sets my feet upon rock, steadies my steps,
Suddenly, like brambles or thistles, have the whirlwind snatch them away.
Light dawns for the just, and gladness for the honest of heart.
But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!
