He said: I love you, Lord, my strength,

For the leader. A psalm of David.

Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid?

May stumble, but he will never fall, for the Lord holds his hand.

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord, their refuge in a time of distress.

But I shall sing of your strength, extol your mercy at dawn, For you are my fortress, my refuge in time of trouble.

But you, Lord, laugh at them; you deride all the nations.

My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.

I will set his hand upon the sea, his right hand upon the rivers.

Trust in the Lord forever! For the Lord is an eternal Rock.

Each of them will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.

It is good to hope in silence for the Lord’s deliverance.

No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it. Warning Against Idolatry.
