Then even the brave man with the heart of a lion—his heart will melt. For all Israel knows that your father is a fighter and those who are with him are brave.

Though the lion roars, though the king of beasts cries out, yet the teeth of the young lions are broken;

The wicked sees and is angry; gnashes his teeth and wastes away; the desire of the wicked come to nothing.

They open their mouths against me, lions that rend and roar.

Arise, Lord! Save me, my God! For you strike the cheekbone of all my foes; you break the teeth of the wicked.

Hide me from the malicious crowd, the mob of evildoers.

Then were the chieftains of Edom dismayed, the nobles of Moab seized by trembling; All the inhabitants of Canaan melted away;

Therefore all hands fall helpless, every human heart melts,

who killed some thirty-six of them. They pursued them from the city gate to the Shebarim, and defeated them on the descent, so that the confidence of the people melted away like water.
