Blessed the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord, his God,

My strength, for you I watch; you, God, are my fortress,

Come and see the works of God, awesome in deeds before the children of Adam.

No, there is no augury against Jacob, nor divination against Israel. Now it is said of Jacob, of Israel, “Look what God has done!”

When you go out to war against your enemies and you see horses and chariots and an army greater than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord, your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt, will be with you.

For it was the Lord’s doing to make their hearts obstinate to meet Israel in battle, that they might be put under the ban without mercy, and be destroyed as the Lord had commanded Moses.
