My foot has always walked in his steps; I have kept his way and not turned aside.

Rather, the law of the Lord is his joy; and on his law he meditates day and night.

In my heart I treasure your promise, that I may not sin against you.

Your commandment makes me wiser than my foes, as it is forever with me.

He will not allow your foot to slip; or your guardian to sleep.

My steps have kept to your paths; my feet have not faltered.

The valiant one whose steps are guided by the Lord, who will delight in his way,

so I said, “See; I come with an inscribed scroll written upon me.

I delight to do your will, my God; your law is in my inner being!”

All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, nor been disloyal to your covenant.

But, as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped,

The naive believe everything, but the shrewd watch their steps.

He taught me and said to me: “Let your heart hold fast my words: keep my commands, and live!

Hear me, you who know justice, you people who have my teaching at heart: Do not fear the reproach of others; remain firm at their revilings.

But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days—oracle of the Lord. I will place my law within them, and write it upon their hearts; I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

With oaks of Bashan they fashioned your oars, Your bridge, of ivory-inlaid cypress wood from the coasts of Kittim.

Take to heart these words which I command you today.

But this is the covenant I will establish with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and I will write them upon their hearts. I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
