After taking counsel with the people, he appointed some to sing to the Lord and some to praise the holy Splendor as it went forth at the head of the army. They sang: “Give thanks to the Lord, whose love endures forever.”

Yours is princely power from the day of your birth. In holy splendor before the daystar, like dew I begot you.

One thing I ask of the Lord; this I seek: To dwell in the Lord’s house all the days of my life, To gaze on the Lord’s beauty, to visit his temple.

May the favor of the Lord our God be ours. Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!

Splendor and power go before him; power and grandeur are in his holy place.

For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.

Give glory to the Lord, your God, before he brings darkness; Before your feet stumble on mountains at twilight; Before the light you look for turns to darkness, changes into black clouds.
