For the Lord takes delight in his people, honors the poor with victory.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear him, upon those who count on his mercy,

May your mercy, Lord, be upon us; as we put our hope in you.

But let those who favor my just cause shout for joy and be glad. May they ever say, “Exalted be the Lord who delights in the peace of his loyal servant.”

The crooked in heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those who walk blamelessly are his delight.

Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

No more shall you be called “Forsaken,” nor your land called “Desolate,” But you shall be called “My Delight is in her,” and your land “Espoused.” For the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be espoused.

The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior, Who will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, Who will sing joyfully because of you,

If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us in to this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.

Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly, and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Now if you invoke as Father him who judges impartially according to each one’s works, conduct yourselves with reverence during the time of your sojourning,

but rather the hidden character of the heart, expressed in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and calm disposition, which is precious in the sight of God.
