Though my persecutors and foes are many, I do not turn from your testimonies.

With a curse you rebuke the proud who stray from your commandments.

I cling to your testimonies, Lord; do not let me come to shame.

The arrogant smear me with lies, but I keep your precepts with all my heart.

All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, nor been disloyal to your covenant.

“Ah, Lord, remember how faithfully and wholeheartedly I conducted myself in your presence, doing what was good in your sight!” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.

He will not grow dim or be bruised until he establishes justice on the earth; the coastlands will wait for his teaching.

The people stood by and watched; the rulers, meanwhile, sneered at him and said, “He saved others, let him save himself if he is the chosen one, the Messiah of God.”
