My fruit is better than gold, even pure gold, and my yield than choice silver.

Ethiopian topaz does not equal her, nor can she be weighed out for pure gold.

Choice silver is the tongue of the just; the heart of the wicked is of little worth.

How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is preferable to silver.

Her profit is better than profit in silver, and better than gold is her revenue;

Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.

On the way of righteousness I walk, along the paths of justice,

For the protection of wisdom is as the protection of money; and knowledge is profitable because wisdom gives life to those who possess it.
