You see those who are wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for fools than for them.

Do not answer fools according to their folly, lest you too become like them.

Those who send messages by a fool cut off their feet; they drink down violence.

The rich are wise in their own eyes, but the poor who are intelligent see through them.

Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil;

Ah! Those who are wise in their own eyes, prudent in their own view!

But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not become wise [in] your own estimation: a hardening has come upon Israel in part, until the full number of the Gentiles comes in,

Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.

That testimony is true. Therefore, admonish them sharply, so that they may be sound in the faith,
