Whoever meddles in the quarrel of another is one who grabs a passing dog by the ears.

The wicked pursue only rebellion, and a merciless messenger is sent against them.

The lips of fools walk into a fight, and their mouths are asking for a beating.

A person gains honor by avoiding strife, while every fool starts a quarrel.

Like a crazed archer scattering firebrands and deadly arrows,

Do not contend with someone without cause, with one who has done you no harm.

He replied to him, “Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?”
