Proverbs 17:10

A single reprimand does more for a discerning person than a hundred lashes for a fool.

Let a righteous person strike me; it is mercy if he reproves me. Do not withhold oil from my head while my prayer opposes their evil deeds.

A wise son loves correction, but the scoffer heeds no rebuke.

The fool spurns a father’s instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

The wicked pursue only rebellion, and a merciless messenger is sent against them.

Whoever overlooks an offense fosters friendship, but whoever gossips about it separates friends.

Beat a scoffer and the naive learn a lesson; rebuke the intelligent and they gain knowledge.

Though you pound fools with a pestle, their folly never leaves them.

Not by words alone can servants be trained; for they understand but do not respond.

Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.
