Solomon answered, “If he proves worthy, not a hair of his shall fall to the ground. But if evil is found in him, he shall die.”

This is the account of the sin of the house of Jeroboam for which it was to be cut off and destroyed from the face of the earth.

He sacrificed to the gods of Damascus who had defeated him, saying, “Since it was the gods of the kings of Aram who helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me also.” However, they only furthered his downfall and that of all Israel.

Blessed those whose way is blameless, who walk by the law of the Lord.

Drop burning coals upon them; cast them into the watery pit never more to rise.

Whoever walks without blame, doing what is right, speaking truth from the heart;

Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; I wait for you, O Lord.

Of David. Judge me, Lord! For I have walked in my integrity. In the Lord I trust; I do not falter.

The Lord is a stronghold to those who walk honestly, downfall for evildoers.

The crooked in heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those who walk blamelessly are his delight.

The honesty of the upright guides them; the faithless are ruined by their duplicity.

The Righteous One appraises the house of the wicked, bringing down the wicked to ruin.

By their own iniquities the wicked will be caught, in the meshes of their own sin they will be held fast;
