But now you have rejected and spurned, been enraged at your anointed.

Justice exalts a nation, but sin is a people’s disgrace.

For wealth does not last forever, nor even a crown from age to age.

Jerusalem has stumbled, Judah has fallen; for their speech and deeds affront the Lord, a provocation in the sight of his majesty.

Say to the king and to the queen mother: come down from your throne; From your heads your splendid crowns will fall.

Has not forsaking the Lord, your God, done this to you?

I have begun to strike you with devastation because of your sins.
