They cry out to their mothers, “Where is bread and wine?” As they faint away like the wounded in the streets of the city, As their life is poured out in their mothers’ arms.

And now my life ebbs away from me, days of affliction have taken hold of me.

My tears have been my bread day and night, as they ask me every day, “Where is your God?”

My deliverance and honor are with God, my strong rock; my refuge is with God.

I will, however, strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand so he can bring it against Egypt for plunder and pillage.
