Thus says the Lord, the redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, To the one despised, abhorred by the nations, the slave of rulers: When kings see you, they shall stand up, and princes shall bow down Because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.

Therefore, I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy about you when he said:

And this is the testimony of John. When the Jews from Jerusalem sent priests and Levites [to him] to ask him, “Who are you?”

Many of them said, “He is possessed and out of his mind; why listen to him?”

You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am.

The Samaritan woman said to him, “How can you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews use nothing in common with Samaritans.)

The crowd answered, “You are possessed! Who is trying to kill you?”

So the Jews said, “He is not going to kill himself, is he, because he said, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?”

[So] the Jews said to him, “Now we are sure that you are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet you say, ‘Whoever keeps my word will never taste death.’

For Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, “The insults of those who insult you fall upon me.”

Let us then go to him outside the camp, bearing the reproach that he bore.

You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe that and tremble.
