Did not Moses give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

But the Pharisees went out and took counsel against him to put him to death. The Chosen Servant.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and acquire his inheritance.’

The chief priests and the scribes came to hear of it and were seeking a way to put him to death, yet they feared him because the whole crowd was astonished at his teaching.

Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent.

The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death. The Mercy of Jesus.

because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

[Then] they tried again to arrest him; but he escaped from their power.

So from that day on they planned to kill him.

Therefore, the Jews began to persecute Jesus because he did this on a sabbath.

For this reason the Jews tried all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God. The Work of the Son.

Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father: the one who will accuse you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope.

After this, Jesus moved about within Galilee; but he did not wish to travel in Judea, because the Jews were trying to kill him.

So some of the inhabitants of Jerusalem said, “Is he not the one they are trying to kill?

It was he who, in the assembly in the desert, was with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai and with our ancestors, and he received living utterances to hand on to us.

Why, then, the law? It was added for transgressions, until the descendant came to whom the promise had been made; it was promulgated by angels at the hand of a mediator.

Not even those having themselves circumcised observe the law themselves; they only want you to be circumcised so that they may boast of your flesh.

In rendering judgment, do not consider who a person is; give ear to the lowly and to the great alike, fearing no one, for the judgment is God’s. Any case that is too difficult for you bring to me and I will hear it.”

Moses charged us with the law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.
