Why was no one there when I came? Why did no one answer when I called? Is my hand too short to ransom? Have I not the strength to deliver? See, with my rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into wilderness; Their fish rot for lack of water, and die of thirst.

Who would believe what we have heard? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

He came to what was his own, but his own people did not accept him.

I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.

So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

Amen, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know and we testify to what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony.

So they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, the one who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you testified, here he is baptizing and everyone is coming to him.”

Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.

For the Father loves his Son and shows him everything that he himself does, and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may be amazed.

I have much to say about you in condemnation. But the one who sent me is true, and what I heard from him I tell the world.”
